THE CURIOUS PLAYER
Make a discovery trailThe Obsidian Games Review journal
A good collection is a conversation between the things you already enjoy and the things you have not tried yet.
Choose a familiar starting point
Begin with a genre you already understand. Read one catalogue summary carefully and identify what attracts you: the setting, the kind of decision or the way the experience is described.
Try an adjacent genre
Change the genre filter and look for a description that shares one of those qualities. The aim is a manageable change of perspective, not a promise that two different games will feel identical.
Arrange your route
Add a few games to your local selection. Move them up or down to make a reading order, then follow the review links one at a time. The route is a personal list, not a ranking of the games themselves.
Return with a question
When you revisit the collection, ask what you are in the mood to do rather than which game has the largest score. Curiosity is more useful than finishing a list for its own sake.
